A first-of-its-kind car seat system driven by user experience and built to help parents keep close to their newborns and the newborns safe and comfortable.
Car seats are impractical
Seriously, I spent months designing them and still have a hard time installing most of them. The Maxi Cosi Coral is the answer to two huge problems.
Installation is incredibly difficult
Car seats are cumbersome and keep you further from your child when all you want is to keep them safe & close
how we planned to fix them
With a user-focused approach, we focused on keeping weight, comfort, and safety at the forefront during the entire process.
Our team evaluated a wide range of car seats, and conducted multiple rounds of user testing and physical prototyping, all to ensure we created a seat that connected parents with their children and helped them feel comforted through safety, emotional connection, and physical carry.
maxi-cosi mood
Maxi-Cosi described their branding & aesthetic as showcasing warmth and safety, down to their icon (top left). This car seat, especially because of its unfamiliar carry style, needed to convey those same feelings.
Prototype to Production
Through sketching & physical prototyping, we were able to properly assess the usability and ergonomics both internally and through user-testing.
